Job Description
PACU - Nursing

Schedule

36 hours per week, night shift. Weekend requirements are 1-2 shifts in a 4-week schedule.

Assignment Details

This position is for a Phase I PACU with a capacity of 20 beds.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience in Trauma Level I preferred.
• Experience in electronic charting systems is required.
• Ability to manage post-operative care for adult and geriatric patients, including monitoring for pain and dysrhythmias.
• Knowledge in managing ventilated patients and administering IV vasopressors.
• Experience with central line care and ICP monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Phase I PACU care, including monitored anesthesia care and conscious sedation.
• Perform post-operative pain assessments and manage patient-controlled analgesia (PCA).
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
• Educate patients and families about postoperative care and recovery processes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Compliance / Notes

Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently after booking. A valid compact or state RN license is required at the time of submission. Two professional references are required, including at least one from a manager or director.
