Registered Nurse – Preoperative/PACU

Schedule: 10H Days; 6 am to 4:30 pm, 4 shifts per week; weekends and holidays required; on-call rotation includes one 24-hour weekend shift per month and three night calls per month (11 pm to 7 am).

Assignment Details: Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly; Contract Weeks: 13.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts RN license required at the time of submission.
• 2+ years of recent preoperative experience required.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• 30-minute response time for on-call duties.
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only).
• PASS/FAIL ECG/Tele test and medications test during onboarding; 85% passing score, with no opportunity for remediation or re-sit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery and provide postoperative care.
• Monitor patient vitals and overall condition during surgical procedures.
• Educate patients and families on preoperative and postoperative procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and manage patient reactions as necessary.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately.

Compliance / Notes

Travelers who have worked in specific facilities within the last 6 months will not be accepted; must be separated from the facility for 6 months to be considered. All requests for time off must be presented at the time of submission. Orientation will be biweekly.
